A Lens Gap Concern?

I recently entered the world of mirrorless with a Panasonic GX85 and 12-32mm kit lens. I also purchased a 100-300mm II lens as well for my wildlife subjects.
But now I'm wondering if I should be considering a 3rd lens to sort of fill in the gap between 32mm and 100mm. And a lens that would also be considered a walk around lens, too. (Only one lens to cover both.) Weather has been very cold lately. So simply taking a walk to see if the 12-32mm would suffice as the walkaround lens, may not happen for a while. But during this time I've been noticing some good deals on lenses that might qualify. So I'd like to get some thoughts and opinions from you folks before spending any more money. By the way I'm loving my new GX85.

Thanks, folks.

Bob

Don't buy lenses just to buy lenses. Use what you now have for a while and if at some future time you feel that for your photography you need something "to fill the gap", then buy another lens.
Your 12-32mm lens should do well as a general purpose lens.

Bob - Keep in mind your “12-32mm” lens has the field of view of a 24-64mm on your GX85 camera. Get in the habit of translating from a lens’ nominal designation to the effective use it has on a Panasonic/Olympus camera. Ditto for Nikon, Canon, Fuji, etc. /Ralph

64 - 200 is quite a large gap to have but is it a range you have a use for? Portraits maybe, up to to around 135mm. Personally I spend most of my time in the 24-64mm range for most of what interests me. Unless you find yourself wanting that 64 - 200mm range on a fairly regular basis you may find you are buying a lens that sits on the shelf. Have a look at flickr and see whats being taken within that range and see if it is what you want to do.

I also purchased the LUMIX gx85 in December. I am not planning to use it as a replacement for my dslrs, but my thinking is to have my wife and I use it on vacations and short trips/excursions. Like yours did, mine came with the kit lens 12-32. I also purchased the 35-100 4.0(not the 2.8) for extra reach. It is extremely light weight and very sharp. This is the range that I wish to cover and don’t plan on any more lenses at the moment-or ever for this great camera.

Fill the gap when there is a need to fill it. If you don't have a specific purpose for the lens why buy it.

Buy the 35-100mm f/2.8 and you should have most everything covered.
