Whatever it takes to keep Buzz in focus.
Since I don't even know who Buzz is, Jeff ... not too sure about the value of keeping him in focus ...
Far rather concentrate on my main subject ... and, in that way - keep old Buzz subjugated ....

And just which one do you prefer, Frank?

Chris, the destruction of the universe is not important to me at all, the point is that space is and will always be here, infinitely. According to some scientists, black holes have never been proven to exist, like all science, it is a theory. According to scientists space was devoid of any matter, even dust
eons ago, everything came from nothing, another theory that doesn't make sense.
Oh, okay, Earnest ... then - destruction of the Universe is NOT important to you ... okay ... I must have misconstrued your statement .... apologies ...
But, that was my point ... A Black Hole - must be infinite - since, ultimately - it's undefinable ....
As far as space being devoid of any matter - that may well have been the case 70 years ago ... but, now, I'm afraid ... it's one big dumpster ....
The race to the moon ... may have been won ... but, through it all ... Space has lost ....
If a black hole has a beginning or an end, then it can't be infinite, but it can propel you to infinity if you can survive the ride, I bet not.

I like the second general definition....which to me seems to cover the question that was asked. "Anything infinite; endless or unlimited, space, time, distance, quantity, etc".
However, for photographers, the last one given may be more relevant: "A distance so far from the camera that rays of light reflected from a subject there may be regarded as parallel" and "a setting for such a distance on a camera's focusing scale".

Yes, I like that one, too, Frank ...
So, in photographic terms - it's the point at which rays of light are considered to be parallel? .... Wow!!!! ... So, that is really far, huh? ... Does that EVER happen?
Infinity is the 2050 US budget

That's only in Star Trek, Earnest ... a Black Hole - is by it's very nature ... undefined ... i.e. w/o a beginning, and with no end ... thus - infinite ....
But, in Science Fiction ... apparently, one can pass THROUGH - a Black Hole ... to the other side ... so, in Fantasy ... it has "sides" ... Go Figure!!!!
What do you mean undefined, according to scientists it is caused by a collapsed star, it gets so dense that not even light can escape, causing everything around it to be sucked in. I think you are talking about worm holes, which exist in science fiction.

Oh, I see, Earnest ... so, then ... I must have mixed up the two terms ... perhaps ... I was thinking of a Black Worm Hole ....

Roland ... good of you to be concerned about the US budget in 2050 ....
Thankfully - this is not a subject which concerns me ... nor, is it likely to concern President Trump - directly ....
So you don't know the difference a black hole and worm hole, two completely different things.

Earnest ... I knew of the existence of both ... the latter acquaintance, more thru watching Star Trek / Star Wars films - than anything else.
The former - Black Hole (or collapse of a star, as you put it) is a familiarity developed from the 70s PBS series on The Cosmos (billions and billions of stars) ....
And, because of this - the term has been used quite widely, in Science Fiction films and TV series, ever since ....
But, in television - the connotation of a Black Hole - is NOT seen as a fatal concept ... why would it? ... then, they'd have to end the series !!!!!
Clearly, it IS one, though ... which is - perhaps, why ... the writers, producers, and players - treat it as just another entity, or obstacle, one must pass ...
Chris T - you did it again: started an infinite debate! (you knew the answer all along)
