Canon Pro10 Size Question

Before trying Canon, maybe a Hogger has the answer.

I have had the Pro-10 for a few years now, and have always used the "normal" paper settings: "letter" and "A3+" for almost everything. (usually 8x10s and 11x15 [yes, 11xfifteen]. Tonight I was just printing some personal work, and on the "setup" page, for paper size, I wondered what size "untitled" was. On selecting "untitled", the preview 5x7 was *lost* on the preview. Could barely see it, or even the 8x10.

Hmmm ... Just for fun, I selected the 15" wide and 25" long. Well, 15" went back to 13.73, but 25" stayed. Long story short, on "untitled" print size, the setup page intimated that I could go to 13.73"x26.3"!!!
A quick check on the printer: the "top" feed only opens up to 13.25", BUT THE MANUAL FEED TRAY CAN ACCEPT 14.125"!

Have any Pro-10 users any experience with printing something that size? I would sure love to print out a couple of Pano's, and for sure, the 14x20 size is almost exactly the same ratio as the 11x15s I like. (I remember hearing or reading someone once say they could print up to 14x22 - although I have never actually known anyone who has.)

SO, If someone has tried it and it works, I'm going to call a friend who has a 24" printer and try to talk him out of a few feet of paper. Or maybe my local camera store (plug for Hunt's in Manchester NH), where they see me several times a month, will "loan" me a sheet of 17x22 that they use to demo the Pro-1000.

Or you could just buy a roll paper printer and print a proper pano image rather than trying to crop something to fit an odd paper size.

Ah, MT, you are so right. Except for the budget! I'm saying to myself, boy are there some good deals going on with the Pro-1000 (for a grand and a whole lot of paper thrown in)! But the practical side of me says "If you're gonna spend a grand, why not spend two, and get what you really want". Those 24x36s look nice, and 24x72 sure would, too. Now the wife is saying to me: "That size (16x20 print, framed) is too small for that spot in the living room. We really need something about twice the size.)
Hmmmm. I might be part-way there!
