A couple of days ago I decided to try getting a water drop collision inside a bubble with some success. Then I decided to try it on the outside. The first drop penetrates the bubble, rebounds back threw the bubble and collides with the second drop. I use a little glycerin in the bubble mix to make it strong enough so it won't burst when the drop passes through.
