I have seen a similar post in the past but am confused .

I shoot in RAW and only carry an iPad when travelling but want to backup my photos. I have seen some costly solutions. Was going to consider Next Di but really looking for a solution with incremental backup .

Any ideas from you fellow Hoggers ?

I take enough memory cards to cover the amount of photographs I'm going to take. If one fills, I'll use another one. Similar to rolls of film. I'll process and back up images when I return home.

If you can justify the outrageous expense of a RavPower WD-03 and a couple of 128 gb memory sticks, about $100 in total, that is pretty much what has been serving my needs while traveling for the past 3 yrs.

You will no doubt receive many suggestions, but as you shoot RAW be careful that the device you choose will transmit RAW files as some will not, as I found out a while back.

Hi Jerry,
I have just looked up the RAVPower FileHub Plus on Amazon UK and believe it or not its more or less the same price (in £'s)

Great thanks , the solution I saw was over a $1,000 . This one is certainly in the ballpark. I think that the cost was pushed up because I was looking for incremental backup facilities but I have overcome this need, by just using a different folder number for each days shots . Sometime I amaze myself.

Not sure what type of card you are using or how much you are looking to store, but I have the Lightning to SD Card Reader and have been more than happy with it. My iPad is 128GB but I also use Apple Cloud to sync with my photos, so it's a quick way to get my pictures off the card and backed up for me to do post processing later on

Is that the iPad Pro or the regular iPad? The pro version just needs a connector for your card and you can get your raw files onto the iPad

I took one of these on a trip to Africa recently and backed up my memory cards to thumb drives every night, keeping the memory cards and thumb drives in different physical locations. It worked well with the iPhone Ap. You have to play with it a little when you get it to figure out how it works, but it is an inexpensive and small solution.

I backup from my hotel/motel room at the end of a shoot or day. I have a large Western Digital (WD) Cloud drive at home that I can reach and backup to from any location with a wi-fi. So I use my laptop from the room and upload a copy of the unprocessed images to the WD Cloud (which I maintain complete control).
