Have always been interested in photography, but it was having kids that really got me behind the camera!

Your daughter has a natural photogenic quality. One trick, Have them look at the top of your head. That opens their eyes more. Her date appears more posed while your daughter looks more natural.

I'm not crazy about the shot of her on his lap. You shot down. It is more flattering when you get on their level or even slightly lower. That especially holds true with younger children. Unless you have my knees, then it's OK to shoot down.

Also, especially with the last one, I find her two piece outfit distracting. I'm not a fan of the bare midriff in formal attire. However, I don't dress her and that is more of a personal judgment.

In summary, very well done. Again, my comments are more minor than substantial.

Nice photos. A little fill-flash would help open the eyes and add some contrast. Keep shooting.

Thank you for all the tips and nice compliments! I too am not fond of 2-piece formal dresses, or midriff showing, but at least her other assets were properly covered ... Unlike many of het friends' gowns!!
