1st picture post high ISO

Greetings to all members

This is my 1st post and I wanted some opinions on what I think is a quality photograph.
shot on a canon T2i and a canon 100-400mm version 1. Vegas in shade during day.

This is an as shot no post production (pp) 400mm, 3200iso, 1/200th, f5.6

I want to hear from the pixel peepers about the "usability" of the photo.
I briefly played with the photo in camera raw and can get a little more out of the
photo but I do not have a calibrated monitor so adjustments are tough.

I just want to know if I am getting all I can out of my equipment.

Thanks and don't be shy.

It's beautiful. If the strong horizontal and vertical lines were eliminated, it might be even better.

Great shot, I agree with bertlomis, but you can't always choose your backgrounds. Maybe use a resizer in LightRoom or other programs that allow to crop the picture and keep the same format size. Not sure how much you have already cropped this photo if even at all. Still a good shot.

I think it looks pretty good especially at that high of an ISO. I've been trying to take some photos at my daughter's gymnastics competition. The lighting in those places is absolutely horrible. The colors in this really turned out well.

I think the shot is beautiful, but that it needs more "pop" in the colors, and maybe more brightness. If you use Photoshop or an editor that allows you to manipulate the white and black clip (in PS it's shadow/highlight) you might want to experiment by plugging a small integer - say one or two - alternatively into the black clip and white clip figures. The white clip with a number around 2 will probably improve this beautiful image.

I agree with jdedmonds above, and try another crop. While colorful, the color range seems low.

Also, post a downloadable image for closer viewing.

It does help that I have a Canon 1dx, which I call a light sucker and a Canon 70mm-200mm f2.8 IS. I took some pics of the Northern Lights and had to PhotoShop the snow to tone down it's brightness. I hope the comments will help you and your pics of your daughter gymnastics. And Thank you.

I'm not a pixel peeper but I think this is a very good image. I also have the T2i.
If you click the little square box beside the word (store original) we will be able to see the downloadable version which will provide more shooting information.

Welcome! Nice post. Good photo in jpg. It looks strangely familiar! LOL I am curious to see how close it looks to the blue I shot in December. They look like brothers! PS... I will delete this after you look at it. Not criticizing, just comparing birds.

I like it.
When I was a kid my dad gave me a book of full color photos of animals. Some of the most beatiful pictures I have ever seen. I feel like this bird should be in there

It all starts with a good subject.

Thanks for the share.
