Slow Adobe Order Processing?

I bought PS Elements 2018 on the Adobe site at noon yesterday, 2/11, using my regular credit card. I got the near-instant email with thanks-for-your-order, here's-your-order-#, and a click-here button to download the sofware. Just like all the other Adobe software I've purchased over the years.

BUT - when I go to do the download I get a "we're still processing, check back in 24 hours" message in red, and of course the download won't start. The charge showed up on my credit card when I first checked it yesterday afternoon (when I couldn't figure out what was happening) but it shows as "PENDING". When it still showed as pending this morning I called the credit card company to see what that meant, and they said it was because while Adobe had notified them of the charge (and they'd entered it against my card) Adobe hadn't done whatever they have to do as a merchant to finalize the transaction. (I noticed that an Amazon order I placed yesterday at about the same time is also listed as "pending" on the credit card, even though the Amazon order has already been shipped.)

In the past, I've always been able to download an Adobe product immediately upon getting the order number email. So I'm just curious as to what might be going on with them at the moment. Anybody else have this sort of experience with them recently? (I've had enough difficulty contacting Adobe CS in the past that I'm not even going to try that route, and whoever I might eventually get in touch with probably wouldn't know, or be willing to give, a reliable answer to this kind of question anyway. So as I say, I'm just curious if anybody here has any experience or knowledge of this kind of situation?)

Does your computer need to be shutdown and rebooted?

First, I would initiate a "chat" help request. Don't try a phone call. Unless slammed for some reason, the chat system works pretty well.

Second, I would download and install the software. Get started. It will run as a trial for a few days, but I don't know how many. Then, when the credit card snafu is resolved you can enter your serial number at the startup screen.

Thanks for reminding me of the trial download, Bill - I'd forgotten about that process, as I haven't done any Adobe software trials since I first downloaded LR1. Since then I've only bought what I knew I wanted, and so didn't bother with a trial period.

As it turns out, I already have my serial number for PSE 2018 - it came in a separate email. So apparently the only thing that's not working is the direct download link from Adobe.

I'm not actually in any rush to get this set up. I bought it because of a sale-ending-soon email from Adobe, and when I looked at the "improvements" from PSE15 I decided it might be worth having - the next time I need to do more than I can in LR6, which handles about 95% of my image editing.

It's interesting. I just checked on Costco to see how much they're charging for Elements 2018 and it appears they're no longer carrying it.

It is my understanding that all charges to a CC are listed as "pending" until the charge has cleared. I check my online CC accounts daily and that is always the status of new charges.

I use Chats most of the time. Easier, faster and eliminates accent issues.
