I don't know if a military parade is a good idea or a bad one. But here are some things to consider. FDR had a parade. Eisenhower had a parade, JFK had a parade, Bush had a parade. There are Gay P***e parades. Hispanic day parades. Thanksgiving day parades. Rose Bowl parades. Grenwich Village holloween parade. Labor day parades. 4th of July parades. St Patricks day parade. Veterans day parade. So ask yourself a question. What would be so terrible about a military parade?

What about a parade with out the heavy equipment?

The issues are several: (1) The tanks will absolutely destroy DC streets. (2) We don't have enough military to parade anyone anywhere, this wasn't the case when we had the draft (3) It brings the US down to the level of the North Koreans and Russians. I'd like to think we above that and lastly (4) We don't have any reason other than the moron wants one.

Hello, its the weight! You knew that you are just trying to be difficult. I've lived in and around DC since 1963, the roads have always sucked, this would absoutely destroy the major roads in Dc.
