If a lens you bought came with two shades - one for use w/ FF, the other for use w/ APS-C ... what do you lose using the big one on small?

I wonder how many lenses actually afford one this luxury, anyway ....

I have both shades for my Sigma 105 macro. I only use the ff shade. using both is a bother and makes the lens really long. the apc shade will not fit by itself. it connects to the other so if you want to use only one it has to be the ff.

Oh, I see ... TBH ... I've never even unwrapped the smaller one, so I didn't realize you have to use both at once .... so, right now, it's just protecting my stored Pentax 50-200 ... I'd no idea, it had to be connected to the other one ... thanks, DDD ... then, I guess I'll just go right on using my Sigma 105 w/ the FF shade ... thanks!!!!
