I heard the cooing again and this morning the feeders are getting a lot of visitors. Finches, Lesser Goldfinches, sparrows of at least two kinds, hummers (and bees), Mourning Doves, Eurasian Collared Doves and I think I spotted one Band Tailed Pigeon. Then two or three doves the size and general shape of a Eurasian Collared but very light gray-almost white and one had markings so pale they could hardly be seen. Could be African Collared Doves. The Los Angeles Metro area is one of three places in the US that feral populations are established. On one of them the collar was so pale it is hard to see, while the others have dark banding on the neck and tail. I got shots of the pale one and one of those with dark markings.

Nice shots, especially the most unusual shot of the Headless Dove.

Related to the Headless American Wigeon I posted a year or two ago. Probably raised near the same Atomic Power Plant. Absorbs energy direct from radiation and sunlight and navigates by internal radar.

34 years locked in a room full of teenagers ranging from 7th to 12th grade will do things to you.
You either become a saint, a mental case, a mass murder or a comedian.
VA turned down my case for PTSD when I told them that after about 10 years in the classroom my nightmares changed from Nam to being about teaching. I think I preferred the Nam ones, at least I was armed.
