Panos of Miami at night. (PL)

These are four panos from Wednesday night in Miami on the waterfront.
All were taken with a Nikon D800, 24-70mm f2.8 lens. Long exposures were chosen to flatten the water to help the reflections.

The first is a five shot vertical of the Miami Arena known as the Triple A. I chose this version because of the cloud in the center and the reflections, which I feel make the shot. Exposure was ISO 100, f19 and thirty seconds.

The second is the "flyover" bridge leading to the arena. I also chose this one because of the clouds. You can clearly see the current of the Miami River in the middle of the image and the still waters of the ship channel in the foreground. All reasons why I chose this composition. This was also shot in the vertical position and is 6 images. Exposure was ISO 100, at f19 at 30 seconds.

The third image is the Causeway bridge to Miami Beach. This was chose as an afterthought as these storm clouds started to roll in and I liked the light reflected on the clouds along with the reflections. This was only a three shot pano shot in the horizontal position. Camera info was the same settings as above.

The last image is an 11 image pano shot in the vertical position. I cropped it tight at the top due to several airplanes and three drones that were flying about. I know there is a dark spot in the center where the bridge fades out but I still liked the view of the entire area. Camera info was the same as above.

Please use the downloads as these look better on black backgrounds and need to be enlarged to see the detail.
Thanks for looking.

Nice set. I prefer some light in the sky...but that’s a personal preference. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice and they bring back a memory from long ago (1952). I don’t know if one of those is the causeway/bridge near Biscayne Park but it sure could be.

Thanks LoneRangeFinder. I left the sky black because there was nothing in it. The whispy clouds were only by the Arena and everything else was pretty blah. Normally I try to include something in the sky--if Mother Nature helps out.

Not the blue bridge, that is new, but the other one leads to Biscayne Park.
Happy to have jogged the memory banks. :-)

What could have been the vacation from hell. Two adults and three teenagers in a Willy’s Jeepster, in July, from NJ, to Miami. In 1952, pre air conditioning.
One evening walking through Biscayne Park with a full moon, palm tress swaying in the evening breeze and the old causeway in the distance. That is an image permanently etched in my mind. In black and white.

I think you did an excellent job with the reflections especially. I think all are attractive and wall-hangers
