Late last summer, when it was warm, and hurricanes were first making news again, someone wondered why we never get bad weather pictures. Well, last night the weatherman told us that snow would be falling all day long - in fact, this was going to be 'winter storm "Mateo" ' {I never knew they bothered to name these bothersome things}. So, in the middle of this storm, I went out with my camera, determined to return with storm pictures. What I learned is that, unless a tree falls on you, storms are rather unremarkable. A few crows cawed out to me, but otherwise animals were conspicuous by their absence, and the people who had to be out hurried along to get their jobs done. I had to photograph almost everything that moved to come up with even four pictures. In other words, we don't get many storm pictures because most of the time there just isn't much of anything worth seeing there. {and, yes, snow was falling at varying rates this entire time - it just doesn't photograph very well, but I was constantly clearing snow off my Weather Resistant camera so I could decipher the controls}

you must really hate me then. I am sitting here in my kids' apartment's club room in shorts and I am sweating (the heater is NOT blowing). I drove from Gainesville to Miami today . The only reason I didn't turn the AC on was because I'm a cheap bastard..... so I rode with the window down.
