Tablet that can reasonably run Lightroom?

I'm curious what is the lowest cost tablet capable of reasonably running Lightroom?
I'm hoping for answers based on experience, not on speculation. I have my own speculation, but I have no experience on what actually works decently.
I plan on continuing to use my current computer, but when I'm remote, I'd like to have a tablet that I can do some onsight review and even editing of images in some cases.

I'm back from a two week trip where I shot with an Olympus camera, used a USB card reader, copied the images to a micro SD card and imported to Lightroom mobile. It was all on a 10.1 inch Samsung Galaxy TAB A. I bought it a Costco a year over a year ago for about $230. It was fun to get home, turn on the computer and find them all in Lightroom Classic.

I only shot about a dozen photos a day. If I was on a serious photo trip, I would take a strong laptop.

Using the tablet on this trip was fun and I enjoyed it. The newest upgrades to Lightroom mobile are impressive.

I'm curious to know this too. I'm planning a trip to England in June/July, and plan to take my laptop. But I was wondering as well about taking my iPad Pro to handle my photos there with Lightroom. Maybe the laptop would not be necessary.

Les - Key Question: How do you plan to transfer the images to your tablet?
I have a grandfathered copy of Lightroom CC running on my iPad Pro (purchased 12/2016) right now.

Along with the iPad, I purchased a 6ft Apple Lightning cable (I believe a 10ft Lightning cable is available from 3rd-party sources).

I have a Fuji X100F premium compact camera and a Fuji app that successfully allows direct WiFi transfer, but your useage sounds as tho it will be much heavier than mine.

I figured I'd just get them on the tablet from the card.
I'm intrigued by the idea of the cheap Galaxy tablet mentioned earlier, which sounds like it would do the job. I was originally hoping to find a windows-based tablet, which would also allow me to run Nik software. But at a minimum, it would be nice to be able to run Lightroom.

If I dont find a low cost windows tablet that will do the job, I might use the Galaxy tablet. At least that would run Lightroom. It sounds like it is capable. I kinda wish I could run Nik Software sometimes though. but that can wait until I sync up on my regular editing machine.

There are too many Lightrooms. The Android "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC" is not the computer and file based Lightroom Classic CC.

The entire cloud thing with the new server based Lightroom CC and the mobile apps for phones and tablets are a new approach that is a lot of fun for a traveler or remote photographer. If you are a subscriber, all versions are included.

I’m running LRcc on a 4th gen 32GB IPad, and it runs fine. A new 5th gen (2017) IPad (which is substantially faster) is about $300. I use an SD card to Thunderbolt adapter cable to download images from my camera.

Chinese maker CHUMI makes a series of Windows / Android dual boot tablets

I have no idea if this would address your dilemma but take a look. I have a cheap 8" one I got for $80 two years ago and it is still working fine.

I have an iPad version of Nik on my Apple iPad. I like it and use it frequently.
Edits from Lightroom CC and/or from Nik are stored in Apple Photos on my iPad.

It should run the Lightroom App. Not sure about the full LR program. You can expand memory with a micro SD card.

I use a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet. It runs Windows 10. I have Lightroom 5.7.1 installed, and it works flawlessly. With Surface Pro 4 being the most recent model, you can find SP3's on ebay and craigslist in the $400is range.

Simply install the Lightroom CC Mobile app on any tablet or smart phone. It works great and in unison with synced files within Lightroom Classic on a desktop.
