This forum is filling up with bullies. A user who has people upset is continually being mentioned, slagged off and made fun of in forums which have nothing to do with him, when he isn't involved in any way. It sickens me. People bring him up just to make fun. Do these people enjoy doing it? They must. Why else would they? When I do post to the thread to point this out I get smart comments back at me. I don't bite though, I'm a lot better than some of the trash on these forums. Anyway I'm so tempted to leave over it which would be a shame. I've enjoyed these forums for quite a few months and enjoy taking part. Sadly some of the people who do offer good advice, are not worth it for all the nastiness.

Why don't you do as I do. When I see one of the offenders, I simply skip past what they wrote onto the next thing. I get upset with most of what they say so I just skip them.

Maybe I should. I'm overly sensitive to this kind of thing. Good advice!

Agree! It's like Taylor swift says, "Haters gonna hate" :)

Life is too short to allow other people's snarky comments consume too much of your time

Hoping the user who is being dragged around the mud isn't you.

In the real world there always are All types. Having real thick skin like a politician's, who has to take slings and barbs all day helps. My concern is about our youth's preparation for this reality. Although maybe there are some safe room forums out there.

You haven't even been here two months, not even enough time to really look over and get used to the site.

Is someone standing behind you with a gun screwed into your ear making you read and reply to the posts you don't like?
Just ignore them (old fashioned way-sometimes the person you are upset with will post something you are interested in).
And compared to some forums, esp political ones, this place is peaceful and polite - just avoid "The Attic". Yes I know "Chris T" gets tiresome, (that would be who you are referring to?) I gave up on him after a few days because no matter how you answered him he argued the opposite unless you were 100% in agreement with him and no amount of facts or logic would change him off his position. So I just pass over his posts and about once every two weeks or so he puts up a subject I will find interesting and at least look at.

During my teaching career I often had other teachers ask why I wasn't upset or at least reacting like them to something that was going on around the school and/or district. (I am a 2 year Vietnam Vet) I would ask, "Any bombs going off, snipers shooting at me, sappers in the wire at 5 meters?, No!" "Then it isn't worth the bother to freak out like the rest of you are. There is plenty of time to think about and react in an effective way."

It's not me, thanks though. The user in question is named a couple of posts down. There is a dig at him there too, though much lesser than a lot of the others.

You are not the first to bring this issue to the forum. Yes, there are bullies. But there are less of them than those who are respectful and courteous. Stay with this forum, and don't be bullied out of it. I've learned much on this forum as an amateur/hobbyist.

I just ignore them.
Too much valuable information and great images here to leave.

I agree. Bullies are everywhere out there now that the majority of information is out there online. I tell my daughters constantly that you cannot control other people, but you can control how you react to them. UHH is a GREAT site filled with many people who are willing to help provide valuable feedback and honest criticism. There are those who will hide behind the keys of their computer and write their poisonous words in a forum where they can, for the most part, remain anonymous. Enjoy the good parts of UHH and ignore the dark corners. At the end of the day, every forum, online outlet, and social media site will have your bullies, who are merely cowards with nothing better to do than to chop away at others.

I didn't "take a dig at him", just stated why I now mostly ignore him. It was a reason, not a dig.
If anything I feel that he just needs/wants some attention and something to do in his life.

And this is the first time I have ever mentioned him by name or commented on him.

Everything you have stated in your paragraph has been discussed in two previous uhh Posts, not very long ago, and created by the same professional photographer. You may have missed those Posts. He currently gives good advice. Bullies are everywhere, from Grade Schools to High Schools, and adults on the internet. They are not going to be extinct anytime soon.
