That was about 50 years ago. It's time we all got over it. You were abused, but protesters didn't abuse you anything like your recruiter did. You probably lost friends over there but protesters didn't k**l them, or put them in harms way. Staying angry helps no one. I knew many who went there because they were afraid not to. That's not heroism. Resisting could get you put in prison, and you could die there, and you didn't get the GI bill. For the people who went because they were gung ho, Large testicles and small brains can be hard to tell apart. I'm not putting you personally into any of these categories, as I don't know much about you. It is obviously a sensitive subject for you. It's a sensitive subject for me as well. We disagree, it happens. It doesn't make one of us more patriotic than the other. It doesn't make one of us more brave than the other. I don't know if you have a particular scab related to Viet Nam, but if you do, I'm not trying to pick it.

Try telling “get over it” to those who are still suffering from PTSD, or those who are homeless. Trying to understand what these people are going through or have gone through without having experienced what they went through shows a great deal of ignorance on your part. Quite honestly, if you haven’t walked in our shoes, you need to shut the hell up about Vietnam.
