I really like both of these but I prefer #2. In #1 the close tree is a little overwhelming but it is still a dramatic shot. #2 is perfect.

Carol, I can't argue with you on that.
just sayin that I wanted the bright spot waaay at the top of the frame to accent it's height.
I also kinda really liked the 2 droopy "eyes" toward the bottom of the trunk.
I have an 'affliction' that causes me to see faces in many unsuspected places I look, and I just felt that this tree was daring me to include it.
as always, thanks for looking in and the comments. (#2 is my fave of these two, also)
