Howth Harbour (pronounced hoe-th) is an active fishing and leisure boat port at the end of a long penninsula on Dublin's Northside. It's sturdy granite seawalls and piers are popular weekend walking spots for Dubliners. A classic granite lighthouse with Ireland's Eye as a backdrop marks the entrance. Howth is a great spot for landscapes, people/street and even abstract photographers. Howth is easily accessible from Dublin city center via bus or DART train. Take a bus from the harbor up to Howth Summit with its spectacular views of Dublin Bay and walk back to the village along the cliff walk and enjoy a hot whiskey or Irish coffee at the 'Bloody Stream' pub while waiting for the train. There are several restaurants serving boat-fresh seafood along the piers or enjoy traditional 'fish and chips' from Leo Burdock's 'chipper' opposite the station.
Howth is a great side trip for visitors to Dublin. I visit Howth every trip and am never disappointed.

Lovely photos of an interesting place--bravo!!
Wonderful group of photos !!!
Phil, this is a very nice series. #1 and the last both have strong attraction for me. In #1 the pier leads the eye through the entire shot and there are lots of interesting details to explore. The colors are a bit overdone but I find that very attractive in this case. The shot has a cheerful, fresh feel for me. The last is a beautiful, serene landscape. The perspective is great as is the view!

This is a very nice narrative set, Phil, and they give a great sense of place.
Excellent shots, but #1 was a "WOW!"
