Ryan posts Tweet bragging about Secretary receiving a tax cut......then deletes it.

House Speaker Paul Ryan deleted a tweet Saturday touting the GOP tax overhaul after critics called him out for appearing out of touch with the reality of low-income individuals' financial situations.

The tweet shared the story of a secretary who, according to a report by the Associated Press, was "pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week."

"A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week ... she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year," Ryan tweeted with a link to the full article.

Paul Ryan deleted his embarrassing tweet of a blatant admission because he and Republicans don't want you to know the t***h: the #GOPTaxS**m is a gift to corporate America and the top 1% at your expense," Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-California, tweeted. "He also doesn't want you to know he got $500.000.00 from the Koch family."

Jon Favreau, a former Obama staffer, tweeted: "As a thank you for passing a $1 trillion corporate tax cut, Paul Ryan received $500,000 in campaign contributions from the Koch brothers, which would probably cover the cost of buying a Costco."

"Remember, if you don't think benefits like an extra $1.50 a week and free Hostess snacks are good enough, you're the one who's out of touch," he added.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota, also tweeted a link to the since-deleted Ryan tweet, writing: "Wells Fargo, fresh off of defrauding millions of Americans, gets $3.4 billion."

California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom tweeted with a screen shot of Ryan's tweet: "Guess someone told Paul Ryan you shouldn't go around praising yourself for giving a working person an extra $1.50 a week — because he deleted this tweet."

Yes there is a lot of hoopla over somewhat larger paychecks. The proof of the pudding will not become apparent until folks will start filling out there 2018 tax returns. Gone are the personal exemptions of $4,050 per person. What is not yet apparent is that the higher taxable income one might end up in a bracket having a higher tax percentage. I am busy re-figuring my 2016 taxes. Point is some wage earners my find their extra bucks being clawed back. Get out your calculators for a workout. Why can't I do this in my camera's Fn button.

You are correct. I was not aware that this had already been posted. I looked back a.bit and didn't see it. Should have looked further.

Ryan originally posted this tweet for what reason if not for telling people they should be as happy this Secretary? So, what is dishonest about it?

What's more important is that his campaign received $500,000 from the Koch family and wrong-doing Wells Frargo gets a $3.4 billion tax cut.

It's no biggie, many of us have created a post that were already in play, we just get a little impatient at times. The title was dishonest because you were implying that Ryan wants to convince us that $1.50 per week should make us happy. The story was taken out of context of the article which included that lady who was happy, for some reason that is unknown to us and other people who were getting hundreds of dollars back into their paychecks. I have no idea why that post was on his tweet or why he deleted it, I will wait for his explanation if any.

I think the first paragraph explained why he deleted it.

"House Speaker Paul Ryan deleted a tweet Saturday touting the GOP tax overhaul after critics called him out for appearing out of touch with the reality of low-income individuals' financial situations."

"Out of touch" is a kindness.
