It will certainly be stable, and no doubt reasonably vibration free. The only caveat I would offer is that when I'm sitting in the blind, I often find I need the flexibility of moving a tripod and/or my stool some, in order to get the shot I want.

Nope. Back in the '50's, when farmers paid a bounty on them, two of us would approach a tree or hay stack, frightening the crows away. One of us would leave, whereupon the crows would return. We switched off. Using CB caps with a home-made suppressor (legal then), we could take dozens from each stand.
