Those are nice! I’m just a newbie and have been shooting the hummingbirds in our back yard. These were shot on a Nikon D5500 with a Tamron 70-300 lens. I’m not sure what the second bird is.

Your second shot looks like a mockingbird. You might want to get a longer lens for birds. I've had some success with my Tam 16-300, but I had to move closer.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment Charlie'smom.

LOVE these shots! SO well done....wonder which Hummer this is? (I'm always trying to hone my bird ID skills!) Possibly a Calliope? Just a guess...

These are Anna's Hummingbirds and are very common to our area. We'll be getting some Rufous for a week or two as they migrate north, and I always look forward to seeing them in the spring.

I'm glad you enjoyed these Mustanger. Thanks for the visit.

Well done as usual, Vicki; how did you get hummers to come feed on your property?

Many thanks Rob. I was going to say something silly about leaving the gate open....I guess they like what I feed them, a mixture of 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. If I get it too sweet, they don't seem as interested. I've also noticed some of the bigger birds drinking from the feeders, so it's no wonder I have to fill them daily.
