Anyone who has read my initial post knows I love the state I live in. But I have also loved visiting other places, backpacking the Appellation Trail, Glacier NP, Peru, backpacking the Tetons,Washington DC, Alaska, Just to name a few. There are several places on my bucket list, for example, Everglades, rolling hills of the mid west, and Dakotas, that said right now my top two places would be north east states in the fall, and Antelope Canyon AZ. (don't think I will ever make the Wave, odds are too high and I have never been that lucky playing the power ball lottery). A lot of people on this site have done some traveling, whether you have or not, what would a realistic or semi realistic for your bucket list destination be to photograph?
Come see southern Louisiana. A lot like Florida but we don't have the beautiful beaches. We do have swamps, marshes, forests, prairies and of course, Cajun culture. Just don't come in summer, it's too hot. Oh, yeah, New Orleans if that interests you.

Oh yes, and don't forget the Cajun Food and southern hospitality :)
Definately New England in the fall. Canadian rockies - Jasper and Banff National parks in Alberta -we were there just after labour day and it was great.
Grand Canyon - 4 Corners
Yellowstone
Death Valley
Try our kid's bedroom. Not for the faint of heart, you never know what you'll find.
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah Valley. Dakota badlands. Nova Scotia.

Sutter Buttes, smallest mountain range in the world. Come in spring.

New York City. Although I worked there for my entire career, I never went there with a camera. Could spend a year and not exaust the photo posibilities. Just me and a camera or 2, and a few hunderd thousand $ to eat at my favorite places
Owens Valley and the Eastern Sierra of California. It is the Mecca and Al Medina for landscape photographers. More examples of natural beauty and varied terrain than you will find any place else.
As a sports photographer I think it's not so much about a place as it is an event, and for me that event would be shooting fully credentialed at an Olympics. Summer or winter is fine and I'm not picky about the location!

While you could probably throw a dart at a map and find a worthwhile destination, I found Newfoundland a most interesting place.
We took a ferry to Port aux Basques, drove north to Twillingate, then south to St. John's. We spent a week in and around St. John's before taking a ferry back from Argentia.
We went by car from Long Island. The entire trip was three wonderful weeks.
