Hello I'm pretty new to photography and was thinking of getting an iPad. I was wondering if an iPad would be good enough to use for editing your photos not just personal use but if you were like a wedding photographer. Thanks, Justin moe.

No. An iPad is great for viewing, and there are editing apps, but you wouldn't want to rely on one to earn a living.

Actually there are a couple of pretty nice apps available for photo editing, Snapseed and PhotoPad are two that I utilize quite a bit. You can't process RAW files with them but it's really quite amazing as to all the other things you can do with jpg files. There are some other photo apps that you can also use with your iPad for what I call exotic effects on your photos, then if you want to upload your photos to Ugly Hedgehog, download a web browser app called iCabMobile, access the hog through it and you will be able to upload directly to the UHH forums.

If your planning on using it as a tag along to show your clients your work it would be fine. Always keep your main work on your PC.

There are several apps for the Ipad that do a fair job, but nothing like you will get with Lightroom or Photoshop on a PC or Mac.
I have been traveling with an Ipad for over a year and using it for previewing photos while on a shoot. Some apps that I use are Filterstorm Pro, Snapseed, Photogene, and PS Express. Each has its limitations so I would suggest that you try each one and see what works for you.
Also be aware of the tethering issue with an Ipad, in which case you need to either use Eye-Fi SD cards or the camera adapter for the Ipad connector.
If you just want to use it to preview your images like I do, then it is an excellent choice for that.
As always, a laptop or PC is best for final PP of your raw images.
