Hummer in a Tree at about 60-65 feet.
In reviewing, culling and deleting old shots I found this one from Nov 1, 2016.
The hummer is perched in a branch of a small tree in the back corner of my yard. Near side of the tree about 60 feet away, far side about 65 feet and I don't remember what part of the tree the hummer was in. 4:31 PM a bit hazy and light not real strong so I used flash.
7DII, 100-400L mk II @ 400, 1/250 @ f/8.0, ISO 400 off tripod with flash.
Considering the size of this little bird and the distance I am surprised I got this much feather detail.
This is a major crop, only 757,440 out of 20.2 mega pixels possible.
...how do you stretch your flash that far? I'm not a flash person, although I have the equipment and can kinda get around on it/them, so the question is serious. Nice shot!

The flash has a guide number of 60 m/196 ft. I also have a Better Beemer fresnel lens to extender the range. I don't remember if I was using it or not.
Flash is the yn600ex-rt (clone of the Canon 600 supposedly) but just a bit over $100 instead of $479.
Wow! What a picture! Such detail too!
