Today I actually watched the squirrel get to the bird feeder. Apparently her technique involves kind of sliding down the wire the feeder is hanging from while stretching out and making herself very long {so actual distance from tree branch to feeder is only a few inches}

Fun to watch and fun to try to make it hard for them to reach the feeder. My feeder is mounted on a pole which I grease and then watch the fun.

They are very enterprising when it comes to getting to bird feeders. Many years ago I saw some clips on TV showing squirrels doing amazing things to get to bird feeders. Still, I love watching them.
