When to pull the trigger

I'm in the market for a new camera and decided on the d7200. I understand that it is hard to pick the best time with the best prices.. I also know there are some very good deals to be had around Christmas So my question is, are there any other times in the year when prices on cameras and photo equipment traditionally drop down a bit. If need be I could wait for the Christmas deals but I would like to pull the trigger sooner rather then later. That is if there are also deals available sooner in the year. This is a significant sum of money for me to lay out and I'm looking to save as much as I can so that I have some left to spend on other things like lenses. Any info on this will be appreciated very much.
Thanks
Rick

Sign up for Hunts Photo Newsletter. They do a big event in Spring around April. Some deals are better than any of the Black Friday deals.

Also, since you are contemplating purchasing a supracided model, there are some D7200 bodies available for sale that are refurbished or slightly used. Just be careful with grey market products.

I hope around April. And you want the D7200 then buy it when the price for a new body is $800 or less. I don't think the price of new body will drop lower than that.

Actually, Nikon has annual sales around February or March. Last year I thought it would be in March but it was in February....so keep checking NikonUsa for prices. Not all items are included, but I would hope that with the D7500 being out that the D7200 would be on the list. Good luck, it's a good camera. I hope the D7500 is on the list since I want to buy one for my daughter for its low-light capabilities.

New Nikon cameras with USA warranty are price fixed. A sale listed from any authorized dealer should be the same anywhere, including directly from Nikon USA.

I agree that if history repeats itself there should be a sale in the next month or two.

Why not look at KEH or Adorama.. Used is good if you look at how they are graded... I have never had a problem with these two sites...

I am the worse person to address this as an issue. So naturally I am gonna address it :) I pull the trigger when I really decide I want to make the kill. When I decide I want/need something all I want is a fair price. Will it be on sale next week can I save 22.72 if I wait till tomorrow or maybe I should hold out for a year and look everyday for the object of my desire. I think about value added that is if I actually have it I can be using and enjoying it instead of thinking about what I could have done if I had one of those. Mommy what if I buy it and I don't like it.... oh I can sell it hmmm. What if I buy used or refurbished? You know those people are just out to cheat you or sell your there broken stuff. Not true.... Most people take pretty good care there stuff and if it is fixed it's usually fixed really good. I buy a lot use with the like new description. I have never been disappointed. Some of the cameras I bought that way were in such good shape/LIKE NEW I felt a little guilty for getting so cheap (well almost guilty). So do you wanna fish of cut bait? I do understand shopping for a good price and getting the most bang for your buck. I even understand frugal... I don't understand paranoia around spending a couple extra bucks for something you want cause maybe I coulda got it cheaper. Thank you I feel better now :) have a great day.
