NFL refuses to sell ad to AMVETS

NFL refuses to sell an advertisement to the AMVETS which simply says "Please stand for the National Anthem". The NFL said that their program is no place for a political advertisement. It is still allowing the players to refuse to stand for the National Anthem during the pregame activities.

It is difficult for me to understand how the players can make a political statement but a veterans organization cannot.

I'm glad. There are enough pissing contests going on without establishing a platform for more.

How about equal application of the constitution?

What does that even mean? How about we stop fueling the fires?

I'm sorry that you didn't understand. I meant the players have the right, guaranteed by the first amendment, to make a statement but the vets don't.

By the way, which group lit the fire?

I think it was the one with the most matches.

LOL, just what I thought! No thanks. If you are taking a poll, that's fine.

At 5 million plus for a thirty second spot, the organization may be able to better spend their money.

My thought is that if you don't like it, don't patronize it. There's enough crap polarizing our country and soapboxes are a dime a dozen.

Right on, I just like watching half time.

It was an ad in the program not a tv ad.

Not necessarily. Who struck that first match. I believe that would be a player. Other players followed. What I don't understand is: the players have the right to express their opinion but the AMVETS are not permitted to express their opinion.

Their rights are not for anywhere, anyplace, or anytime.

Trump blocks dissenting vets on his twitter account. Still outraged?
