I know I am going to look stupid but I just don’t want to purchase the wrong thing. I KNOW I need Lightroom Classic as I am shooting raw and want to PP on my desktop. I did a trial and now am ready to sign up. It would just make it so easy for there to just be a purchase box to click on that says just that Lightroom Classic. But if there is I can’t find it. I googled Lightroom Classic and get several choices. Can someone help me pick the right one? I clicked on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC but then it says to choose a plan. So I click on “Choose a plan” and it brings up 4 more choices none of which says Lightroom Classic. The individual choices are 1) Photography $9.99/mo and includes Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC or Lightroom CC plan. Why is there none that say CLASSIC? Of course there are other choices for a whole lot more money but none of them actually say Lightroom Classic either.

I believe you want the 'photography' package.
That is what I have and it includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC (the mobile version), Lightroom Classic CC & Bridge CC.
You do not have to install anything but Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC if you want to use it).

Adobe has certainly blundered in its introduction of its new product. Unless you want to track down an old version of LR, there will be no disk - you'll need to download the software. The Photography Plan is the one you want.

They sure did, someone should have been fired over the ridiculous re-use of "Lightroom CC" for a completely different product than what it had been.

Just take the $9.99 PHOTOGRAPHY PLAN bundle. It is your very best choice if you will mainly use Classic. It INCLUDES Lightroom Classic CC 2018, Lightroom CC 2018 (the mobile, web-connected version), Photoshop CC 2018, and Adobe Bridge, along with just 20GB of online storage. You can do what I did and install just two or three of the apps. I ignored Lightroom CC 2018, and I don't use any Adobe online cloud storage. I use Lightroom *Classic* CC 2018 about 75% of the time, Photoshop CC 2018 about 20% of the time, and Bridge on occasion.

Adobe does not want you to get just one app. That's partly why they charge twice as much if you only want Lightroom CC and no Classic or Photoshop! The other reason is that they're trying to ensnare you into using their online cloud storage lair. That scheme works well for millennials using smartphones, but not quite as well for traditional photographers who need more powerful tools.

You may not know, but after subscribing and paying your money, you’ll need to download/install the Creative Cloud desktop app. This app lets you manage your subscription and selecting which of the apps you want to install. It is also the median through which you’ll be notified of updates, giving you opportunity to install those updates.

Thanks. Hopefully that will go smoothly.

It’s quite straightforward. Upon opening the Desktop app, it’ll ask you to log in with your Adobe ID, then you’re set.

By “set”, I mean it will list the apps you can install. Select them for installation and sit back. Just wanted to make sure I’m not confusing you.

With the $9.99 per month, you will (or should) get both. I use Lightroom Classic on everything from my big cameras but I use the new Lightroom for everything on my cell phone.
