I prefer the minimalism of the first shot.
Suggestion, try the bottom as a B&W.

SueScott, I love the photos but evn more so that you saw the image one year prior to being able to take it. This says for sure you have "A Photographer's Eye" in my opinion.

I agree, the second one would look good as a B&W but the whole point of these shots was to highlight the red, white, and blue aspect - winter here in Ohio tends to be very grey and getting a sunny day with a blue sky and snow doesn't happen very often.

Thanks for the kind comment! It helps that the property belongs to my son-in-law and that I'm over there several times a week and also that I have a very patient husband who waited while I checked out different angles! What would we do without our understanding spouses!
