Howdy - Nikon D90 Seattle

I enjoying shooting, but I am definitely new to sharing photos ... and REALLY liking digital. I have a Nikon film 35mm now mothballed, but may reactivate it down the road (there's something about film) ... please critique ... I am hoping to improve (and learn as many of the bells and whistles the D90 seems to have ... it's overwhelming). Any leads on night shooting? ... moon, stars, ... D90 settings? And, I didn't see if pics needed to be sized down? ...
