I'm reasonably new to UHH and have posted my share of photos. I've had a few disagreements with some of the members here and noticed that next to zilch (photos) are produced by them. Why are they here? Why don't they show their work? Just curious! I don't get it.

In my case, without a joke to make my pics are useless. Also, at my age my photo ops are greatly restricted.

Too funny John. You are probably being too hard on yourself. B^)

Many that do not post here a lot have their own websites or use flickr or other dedicated photo sites to post their pics. This site does not have a particularly good layout for posting photos.

I'm on Flickr as well but I also enjoy this site.

And some of them just plain like to bust people's chops without any evidence that can be thrown back at them.
Some are from "The Attic" and come over for a change of pace by arguing with someone different once in a while.

I post more images on my Facebook page (usually a new one weekly) than I post here. It's easier to keep track of what I post on FB, as well as the gallery on my web site than it is here.

Well Robert, I have been part of the heckling, troll and bully tactics. I noticed that when you do stand up to them, they place you in the ignore list, put their tails between their legs and shut-up. They can't stand it when you don't crumble when the hyenas attack.

Not sure if you are including me in that indictment, but I and others here post lots of images in the Main Photography Discussion forum, usually when relevant to the topic being discussed, rather then in the gallery. I don't post images for ego and I don't generally seek opinions and criticism except from those knowledgeable enough to give useful feedback rather than platitudes. Unfortunately that is a relatively small percent of posters here at UHH. But, If you look hard enough you'll find a number of examples of my images if you are really interested.

Here a quick one I just found. Not my best I'm afraid, but it will have to do in a pinch. Select download and then click the image again when it opens to view it in full resolution if you are interested in the detail in the valley below.

The last time I posted a photo to the Gallery, several UHH members attacked it vehemently regarding a minor issue blown way out of proportion. Eventually I asked Admin to remove it. The same photo, a casual portrait, was sent to the subject and he was very pleased. It was also posted on Facebook and on a photography subgroup on Facebook where it got a favorable response. Perhaps the bullies had a different agenda. /Ralph

For those who post their photos on Flikr or similar sites, why not put the link in your signature? I know some do, but not many.

Great idea. I do have that option in my signature. It would be wonderful if others do the same. Cheers!

In all fairness, you should post something of interest. If it doesn't hold your attention for than three seconds or more, don't waste your time posting. People will be bored or not interested. Cheers.

In the past, I have joined many photo forums.
I never participated on most any of them.
At the time, I enjoyed everyone's images and conversations.
I glad there was not a requirement for posting images.
That's my past experience.
Pat
