Very nice image, simple but impactful. Well done.

There are some funky patterns in the background. I think that it would be better if the background were completely black or more visible. Right now you have those barely visible patterns that tend to get my attention. That aside, this is a great idea. I like the flowers and the instrument together. Doe they tell a story? No idea, but they look good together.

Thanks for the look and comments. This was mostly an exercise to check the camera's focusing which up to now has been less than the sharpness expected. No story intended, just plunked flowers down to work on settings for DOF. I used the only black fabric I had Erich. The weave picked up some light, I burned and cloned some out but looking carefully again I missed lots.

I also tried some high key as well. Found the lighting to be more difficult and had problems getting the white required using both the camera's settings and Photoshop.

I do a lot of close-ups like this; well done overall. There is a bit of camera shake going on, resulting in an image that is not as crisp as it could have been. I recommend using the shutter timer function (or equally effective remote shutter release) to minimize shake. It can make a huge difference.

I had a well supported bellows rig and the mirror up but still slight movement now that I look more carefully. Remote or timer delay next time for sure. Thanks!
