I think these are absolutely beautiful shots. I normally don't like HDR treatments, but these do not look overdone as a lot of them do. Great job.

Thanks appreciate the acceptance.

Great images. I think I commented we both have that Tokina and I reference your use of it for how to better use a wide angle lens well. My question: with my 7200, I don’t believe I can take an HDR image, unless the camera is set to jpg. Is it different with your camera?

I do not use the internal HDR. Set to aperture mode and bracket the shots holding the button and using your scroll wheels to set the number of shots and the stOP increments. I usually go a full stop up and down on each shot. Then you need to process all the images in post through software of your choice.

I get out any chance I can and shoot, temps below zero do not sway me much just takes longer to prepare. The cottonwood tree is my favorite from the season and was taken last Saturday morning during our January thaw in the area. I know some on the forum won't like because of the "post processing" per some recent topics but I like the and think they are beautiful images. The cottonwood tree was shot in RAW hdr -1,0,+1 on my Nikon D7100 with Tokina 11-16mm @ 16mm. The middle shot was a five shot HDR in JPEG. -2,-2,0,+1,+2. Enjoy the art.

Whoa! Those are beautiful for sure Duane. The sky in the first shot and the Sun flare make it my favorite, but the framing in the second one makes it hard to look away. Great work on the post. I can never get HDR right, but you inspire me to try harder. Thanks for braving the weather and sharing.
