Does anyone have any comments or experience with this lens. I am thinking about buying one but would like anyone's opinion.
I bought a Sigma 50-500 used in perfect shape with warranty from KEH for $650. the 50mm end gives me alot to work with.
Got mine several months ago and am very happy with it. We just got back from three weeks in Edinburgh to which I took three lenses and ended up using the 18-400 for the vast majority of time. I have it paired with a D7500 and although it is not a "fast" lens I got some very good nighttime handheld shots. It will be the only lens I take on the next trip.

What does that have to do with the OP's question.
OP is "thinking about"the Tamron. That would seem to infer he is open to other suggestions, but perhaps I infer incorrectly.
Who's on first, what's on second, third base, I don't know...... 50 - 500?

Well how nice. But what does that have to do with the OP?

He specifically states the 18-400mm lens it the title and asked for comments on that lens in the body.
I really enjoy how we interact on the HOG.... LOL
How do you like the Sigma? Seriously considering it as my one of two lenses travel option.
