Class Assignment - Ordinary to Extraordinary

I am taking a short photography course to keep me occupied over the winter. Last week's assignment was 'Ordinary to Extraordinary'. Its about looking at ordinary things in a different way. The weather was awful last week- bitter cold and dull flat light. Here are a couple of my efforts. Maybe not that 'extraordinary', but I like the way they turned out and it got me off the couch.

Nice work. Assume the course is to your liking. The hydrant is a Waterous Pacer. Good quality unit. Sorry can't help myself. Spent 30 yrs as a ff.

Your efforts were worth getting off the couch. When I was BROKE and could not go travelling to my favorite spots, I found a treasure trove of photo opportunities in my own back yard. Needless to say I enjoyed every minute of it and got quite a few serendipitous photos I will never probably get again. You did a very good job on these set.

Thank you so much for all of the comments. I really appreciate your encouragement. This week's assignment is 'Abstract'. Should be challenging. I hope I'll have a few worth posting.

Very nice photos, I would think that any of them would fit the assignment perfectly.
