Thing of it is these little buggers don't even belong over here. They were introduced from the US a couple of hundred years ago and have had a devastating effect on our indigenous Red Squirrel. They are bigger and out compete the Reds but mainly they carry Squirrel Pox which kills the Reds. Thank you as always for looking and for commenting, much appreciated. The sad thing is that in the past we didn't know what devastating effect introducing non native species would have on the native population, whether plant, animal or human. I hope people know better now!

They are so cute and so much fun to watch. I realize they can be a pest, but I do like watching them on my balcony. My cat enjoys watching them as well. She really wants to get out there and 'play' with them.
