Iceland sits aside the mid Atlantic ridge straddling the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The attached map gives you an idea of the spreading centers between the plates.

The color balance is not off. Look at the water. This was the actual color of the sunset light that evening.

For those who requested files to download. These were downsized slightly (full size, full res image files are too large for UHH (28MB jpeg). One image was taken a bit earlier and desaturated in post (CaptureOne Pro), the other taken a bit later and the saturation increased in post.

Very much better but a bit more magenta than I would like. I would not desaturate but would rather change the color temperature. Thanks for fixing.
