Recently Ken Burns documentary aired on PBS. A lot of the program was dev**ed to people protesting the war. This got me to thinking that back in the 1960s the left seemed to not trust the governme and the right was a big supporter of government. Their campaigns always included a call for law and order.
Somehow and at some time the two parties switched positions. What was the cause? Was it the rise of right wing commentators like Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and others who started the mistrust of governments? Was it Fox News? Did the left react to this by supporting our government or was.it something else? What happened?

Segregationists simply could not bring themselves to have anything to do with "the party of Lincoln." Johnson changed their mind. I was a Democrat in the 70s and I was somewhat liberal. But, I grew up in a state where brothers do not marry their sisters.

We’re you born a coward or develop it later in life?

Only an uneducated asshole and bigot would make a statement like that.

Democrat "Party Switch" Myth Debunked
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RBFOTdY1yY
Did you even watch this video!!
It's about the 1964 Civil Rights Act. I wrote about dems and reps switching positions on trusting government.
This reminds me of a portion of a Neil Diamond song:
If you're asking for my time
Isn't much left to give you
Been around a good long while
So I gotta say it fast
Time is all we'll ever need
But it's gotta have a meaning
This video has no meaning to the subject and was a waste of time.

I have watched many videos and read many articles about this myth it doesn't exist.

Which part do you disagree with? Do you maintain there were never Dixiecrats? Are you claiming that Northern Democrats and Southern Democrats walked lock step? Southern Democrats, you know, the r****t ones, were very conservative.

I expect better from you. Guess I shouldn't. Do you have a particular part you believe isn't true, or do you just feel a need to protect a president you don't even like? I guess you feel he's your president and only you can criticize him.
" But, I grew up in a state where brothers do not marry their sisters."
That statement put's you at the bottom of the barrel.

Good morning.
So you didn't grow up in a state where brothers did not marry their sisters but I don't think that anyone else did either jerkoff. You think that you are so special, that you are better than folks from let's say Alabama, well I really don't think that you have done anything special with your life to afford you such a feeling of superiority.

I didn't say it was good or bad. I didn't cause these marriages to happen. I realize many are common law, but does that really change anything? I followed Wallace's campaign (no I was never a supporter) and have felt differently about the south ever since. How many civil rights workers were k**led by Democrats in the North? How many little girls were blown up by Northern Democrats in a church bombing? There weren't southern Republicans to any extent. Now there are hardly any democrats there and you want to claim no change took place.

And, you believe Alabama is a shining light on a hill? My understanding is that Huntsville is a 21st century civilization, the rest of Alabama? Not so much.
