It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that we (CA) has more people in poverty than any other state. We have a huge population of unsk**led people, people that aren't familiar with the english language, people that are homeless, (homeless because our weather is best or better for the homeless than any other state; we are warm and dry), and because our liberal political climate is also conducive to these people which attracts more people in poverty.
This would not be affected by the size of the populace. I can find plenty about California's economy. What I can't find is anything that suggests California has the highest percentage in poverty.
And it is the 6th largest economy in the world, not was.
