CA is now listed as having more people in poverty then any other state. Highest % of any state.

About 30 yrs ago, CA was the 6th largest economy in the world.

If poverty disappeared, so would many state employees lose their jobs.

California is also a sanctuary state, wonder if that has anything to do with it, #1 in i******s, #1 in poverty. Open borders is not a good policy perscription for this country.

"CA is now listed as having more people in poverty then any other state. Highest % of any state."

Source please. I can find nothing that backs up your statement

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that we (CA) has more people in poverty than any other state. We have a huge population of unsk**led people, people that aren't familiar with the english language, people that are homeless, (homeless because our weather is best or better for the homeless than any other state; we are warm and dry), and because our liberal political climate is also conducive to these people which attracts more people in poverty.

"Highest % of any state."

This would not be affected by the size of the populace. I can find plenty about California's economy. What I can't find is anything that suggests California has the highest percentage in poverty.
And it is the 6th largest economy in the world, not was.

LA Times

And you can't dispute this because the Times is a very liberal publication.

The only source I can find is City Journal, and I can't find it on City Journal's web site. I'm no expert and they may know something no one else does, but I remain highly skeptical.

Actually, you can dispute it. USA Today lists Mississippi as #1.

Nice chart but it doesn't say California has the highest percentage of persons below poverty.

I didn't see California on this one either, but on this one I can't be sure I didn't miss it. I don't believe I did.
