People in Hawaii were told there was an incoming missile. Great way to ruin a day.

The man in charge is Vern Miyagi ..., he is the chief , administrator , emergency management.., at the first unscheduled news conference .., the one before the 1pm official news conference .., he accepted full responsibility for the false alarm .. he should resign ...!!!

I own a passenger Baggage storage service at the Honolulu Airport ..., when the audible alarm and the text message came on my cell phones ..bla bla bla .., this is not a drill .., I shut down storage services and ran from Hawaiian Airlines back to the main terminal where I entered the basement and stayed put until the all clear ...

My wife was on the phone with me and I directed her to take shelter ... she is a security supervisor at an art museum ...as it was not open .., she directed all staff to go to the basement .. they did ...

It was a very unnerving situation that when it was all over in 38 minutes .. , you had a hollow pit feeling in your stomach that lasted all day ..not a day I will soon forget ..

This is what was one one of my five phones ....passengers at the airport didn’t know what to do ...neither did most airport employees ...I was the only one to reach the airport basement and I did it within a 10 minute window from the start of the warning ...I was there alone until the false alarm ended ..

Even the Sony open was interrupted ....,

What shelter would protect Hawaiians (or anyone) from a ballistic missile
assuming there are no non-nuclear ballistic missiles out there.

Take this for what it's worth but to bad stupidity isn't painful.

We have continuous follow ups on our local channel over here ...people sped up on the freeways .. jammed the exits to get off the freeway .. ran red lights .. it was a panic to say the least .. a lot of local accidents were caused by this .. the police said they got the all clear 2 minutes later and broadcast out to their officers .., but the emergency management had no way to retract or automatically send out the recall .., so they had to do it manually ..took 38 minutes ..

Those people who USE,..... T MOBILE ..the alerts never went out .. so their subscribers never Knew Jack ,,..anything about anything , .. I guess you get what you pay for .., ! ..FCCs investigating ..

As said before .., North Korea didnt say anything .. they knew about it ...if I were them ..I would have worried about the US retaliating and contacted via a hot line ..”what the f over”.., but they never did ..

The male who actually pushed the wrong button and again pushed the confirm button .., must have been brain dead ..., he has been reassigned ...NOT Fired ...as the system was flawed and it was the states responsibility so the employee responsible could not be fired as it was deemed a “human error” on a flawed system .. it is almost impossible to fire a tenured state employee ..

Meanwhile ...the fallout over here .., continues...like a law enforcement commented to me at the airport yesterday ...”that’s what happened Dec 7 ,,. Everyone consumed by the ALOHA Spirit .. never taking anything serious ...la la la land ...and look what happened ..., “ I had to agree with him ..!

As a side note .., today we find out that the employee who pushed the wrong button twice ...actually didn’t know what he had done until he received the PHONE ALERT on his OWN cell phone ....go figure ...!!!! This is not a drill ....my a..!

It is good that this happened. Far better to learn how screwed up our systems are BEFORE the real thing happens (God forbid!).
