Why use the Federal funds you were given to prevent disease when you make more money treating people who continue to get sick? It's money (profit) that really counts, right?

The food industry makes a fortune selling food that make us sick in the long term and the pharmaceutical industry make a fortune selling drugs to treat those conditions.

It's definitely a "for profit" organization.

Don't get me started................I don't know WHY acupuncture and alternative medicine are not covered. I have had extremely good luck with both and amazing results with acupuncture. Oh, my, we cannot cover THAT!!!!!!!!!!! Just grinds my ass that there is so much that could be saved by prevention but insurance would rather pay the big $$ for overpriced medical stuff.

It's easy to make foolish conclusions when ignorant of facts. I happen to be a patient of the world-class Johns Hopkins Medical Center and have driven through the run-down neighborhoods in Baltimore where filthy conditions and high crime exist. The medical center's job is to treat illnesses, it is not to bulldoze and rebuild huge sections of the city, i.e. elimination by urban renewal. The authors have misplaced the blame and vastly underestimated the costs of eradicating vermin and eliminating damp environmental conditions, filth, and other causes of allergies that governments are responsible for handling. BTW, propensity for allergies is also hereditary.

I use herbs and essential oils as much as possible. Also a naturopath and chiropractor. None is covered because the standard medical profession can not make a profit on it. You can't get a patent on herbs and oils since they are natural growing substances.
