I am heading with my wife to Costa Rica for birds, etc.
Need remotes for D7100, D800 and D500.
Suggestiosn and reviews. Any to stay away from.
Check out Alpine Labs, they offer the Pulse & Spark both offer more than just remote capabilities.
If you're going cable, you'll need two different ones.
Just a quick note about Alpine Labs Spark, it does come with both wired & Wireless. I have the Spark & Pulse, both offer a lot of versatility especially if you want to do bracketing for HDR, time lapses etc.
I have Pocket Wizards for my Nikon SB flashes. Very reliable.
I'm sorry I miss read and thought you were talking about flashes. So sorry to all. Need more coffee.
I use Yongnou on my D7000 with an SB600. If you go that route, throw the instructions away and watch the demos on YouTube. It's radio so it can work out to 300' and doesn't need direct line of sight.
Are there Nikon apps you could put onto your phone? In that case all you would need to do is choose which app for a particular camera. My Olympus remote app allows me to change ISO, shutter speed and aperture as well as fire it. I can also select focus point.
VELLO has a wireless shutter boss 2 remote and receiver. Purchased this unit and have used it regularly. Got great photos daytime and night shots also.
You don't need to spend 100.00 s of dollars for a remote I got mine for 39.00 11 or 12 years ago it has 4 channels and it works at 75+ feet and still has the same battery in them . Look at BH.
I bought one off of eBay. It is the one that will fit my Nikon D800 and also the D500. Thanks to all.
