Nice shot! We have a Pileated Woodpecker that nests near us and is always after bugs in the banana patch. He is very vocal going to roost at night. I love seeing bird shots.

I've been trying to get a shot of a Pileated Woodpecker for the past four summers. I know the area he is in.I see him
a lot,but never close enough for a shot. Your right they are very vocal.
Any tips on how to get close?

I have two in the area and they occasionally go to my deck feeder. I will post my shot in the photo gallery.

I agree with rfarris1, it seems to be a male Downy rather than a Hairy Woodpecker. The Downy has a smaller beak than the Hairy and is slightly smaller.
