Hello all from a newbe to the digital world, though experienced from the old days of film:
I have two Nikon bodies, a D70s and a D200 and two lenses:
a Nikkor DX, AF-S, 18-135, 3.5/5.6G ED and
a Nikkor AF-S 18 -55, 3.5/5.6 G

I obviously only need one and am trying to figure out which lens and body to keep. Help!

The lens to me is obvious, the 18-135, because you will get more use out of it.

Hi Vern, from the UK.

I didn't get into Nikon until after your 2 models, so can't offer any hands-on experience.

Not sure if you're familiar with the reviews of Nikon gear by Thom Hogan, but he's one of the most respected writers and commentators on Nikon, and for a long time. Best I can offer is his review of the D200, and I guess there's one of the D70 too .... !

Go with the lens you're likely to get best use from .....

Keep both, there is no serious money in either one but you can have a good backup camera by keeping both. Also the D200 is generally considered a better camera but the D70s has advantages for flash photography if that matters to you. Much higher sync speed on that one.

Welcome to the forum.
Keep both? Different lenses on each?

I recently purchased an 18-135 for my Canon SL2. This is a very versatile lens when on a Nikon, Canon or other camera.

Not true! Suppose one stops working. Then you're left with nothing. You won't get much money selling your gear, so why bother? You have two good cameras and two good lenses. Enjoy both of them.

The obvious solution is keep both one on each camera. You will spend less time on cleaning sensors.

I like this answer. I'd put the shorter lens on the D70s.
