Lightroom Classic Help

I'm having a senior moment & could use a little help. I have LR Classic 2018 on a PC. I have a separate internal hard drive with a "master Folder where I keep all my pictures. The folder setup in the master folder consists of a separate folder for each year (under the Master Folder).

Problem: In the "master folder" I have created a folder for all of my 2018 pictures and thus far have created 2 picture folders in the 2018 picture folder. I seem to have forgotten how to get the 2018 picture folder to show up under the Library module in LR ... however the 2 subfolders containing pictures DO show up in the library. The real question is ... how do I get the 2018 Picture folder to be recognized in the library module? Frustrating - want to have the 2018 Picture Folder the 2 other subfolders inside the 2018 Picture Folder.

Not sure this makes much sense ... have done similar operations many times in the past - thanks

Julieanne Kost has the answer (and I had this question before so knew what to Google).

In short, Right Click (or Control Click on Mac if Right Click is not enabled) and choose "Add Parent Folder" or something similar.

WIth Lightroom, it's all or nothing. Create the folder in the Library module, not outside of the program.

Thank you for the reply, but over the past 5 or 6 years I have not found that to be the case.

This is ABSOLUTELY the correct answer. Sure, you can create this folder outside of Lr and go looking for it, but why would you want to do that? As soon as I imported my first set of images shot in 2018, Lr AUTOMATICALLY created the folder for me. No fuss, no muss, easier, simpler and faster! Lr is designed around organizing your work, so why not let it do its job? Best of luck.

For Lightroom queries, i find the best way is to join Lightroom Help on Face Book, there is always someone on that forum who can answer your questions. Or Lightroom Queen, again on Face Book.
