I'm new to the UHH forum, and glad to be here! I've learned a lot already. These pictures were taken during a daylong Safari while I was in Kenya this past summer.

I enjoyed the lioness and her cub the most out of a fine series.

Welcome to the forum. This is a very nice set. May I humbly suggest aligning the horizon for the elephant image. It is a wonderful photo otherwise. Your focus is a bit soft on the lion photos, also. I know you did not ask for a critique and I am not being negative. I think this is a fine set and quite well done.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am well aware of the soft focus on the Lioness with her cub. It was shot with considerable zoom, which probably affected the sharpness of focus. I almost excluded it from the posted set for that reason, but the image was so compelling otherwise, I decided to post it.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I felt much like a kid in a candy shop that day. There was so much to see and photograph. Such fun for someone who likes to take pictures. Someone asked about the camera. These were all shot with a bridge camera, my Canon SX50. The long zoom was a necessity, especially with the lion and giraffe pics. The ability to adapt quickly to changing scenery was also important. As well as the challenge riding in the back of a Safari rig on bumpy roads. Often you barely have time to set up your shot before the driver starts moving again.

Great images. I love them and can’t wait to see more of them. Good job.

My daughter and I went on a safari last June at Kruger Park South Africa. Lifetime experience.

Thank you. You have some great Safari shots as well! I agree, a Safari in Africa is truly a "lifetime experience."
