While old and now unsupported by Microsoft this compact unassuming program offers a quick and dirty way to create panorama that is unsurpassed even by the 'big guys'.
Throw all related images at it, in any order and any orientation and if feasible at all (most programs would already be throwing up) it will create a stitched panorama.
This program does not care of the file format as long as it it a bitmap and recognized by Microsoft, sorry mac users, there is no mac version). The result is that if you load the CODECS from the manufacturer or from Microsoft your newest raw file will be used. No update necessary. Bit depth goes up to 16 (raw)
ICE has a small footprint on the hard disk and it uses of memory is small too.
ICE saves in multiple formats including PS CC.
Sorry, you do not get the kitchen sink with it, but you can throw one at it.
In Conclusion ICE is a small free versatile that most folks should consider having in their arsenal. ICE is not supported nor updated since 2015. There is an active
forum.
You can download ICE from
this Microsoft page.

Down loaded it - final step was "Open (whatever)", said yes, and then waited until I got tired and X's it down. Will try again later. Will have to try it with a hand-held as the images are not level. Noticed latest version 2016

I have used this program for several years. It is by far the easiest way to stitch a panorama I have ever used, and generally does a very good job. (When it gets it wrong, which is very rare, the results can be comical. In those cases, I usually find I have included a frame that doesn't really fit.)
My usual workflow is to do some initial PP on the individual frames, dump them as tiffs, stitch them in ICE, and then do minor tweaks to the output. I didn't realize it would take RAWs, so now I have to try that.
Thanks - I just downloaded it.
