Can anyone outline the method to export a raw image from Lightroom 6 into Aurora 2018 for HDR editing and then back again into Lightroom for additional editing or printing on a Mac laptop? Do the HDR edits reflected in the LR catalogue?
Thank you

Unless I'm mistaken, Lightroom will output a .PSD file, a TIFF file or even a JPEG file, but the RAW image is left on disk. If you have manipulated a RAW image in LR, you can edit it in Aurora through the plug-in, and when done, return it back to LR.

You are correct LR is non-destructive. If aurora is a plug-in it will show up in the edit-in in the develop module. It creates a copy of the raw on the fly, you do your Aurora editing, and it returns to LR as a tiff or jpg(not sure which). It only brings the object back. The raw it plays with on the fly is erased. Same as any plug-in that LR interfaces with.

It doesn’t even have to be a plug-in. You can define external editors in preferences and the choose Edit In: and the editor you set up will be an option. Lightroom creates the file type of you choosing and invokes the external editor. Make your edits, exit the editor and save when asked but do NOT change the file name or location. Back in Lightroom the edited version will be there along with the original. It works nicely.

Do you have the Aurora plugin installed? Does it show up in Lightroom as an option under Edit/Plugin Extras? This is how you take a photo directly from LR into Aurora, and back again so that your edited version shows up in Lightroom, sitting beside the original.

If the plugin isn't showing up there, close Lightroom, start Aurora as a freeststanding application, look in the Aurora menu for "install plugins" and check the ones you need. The next time you open Lightroom, the plugins should be there.
