Recommendations for Astrophotography

I was hoping to get some recommendations for a good camera to mount on my Meade ETX125 Telescope. Looking for something that will work for planetary as well as deep space. Trying to keep price below $1,500 if possible.

I came across a web site that listed cameras that are good in low light; two that I remember are the Nikon D7200 and the Sony A6300. Also check out the web site Lonely Speck for gear recommendations.

It seems you could use pretty much any camera. While there is no mention of your requirements other than price, I would add the lighter, the better.
Looking around, it seems that the 16MP mirrorless Fuji X-A10 might be a consideration given it is less than a pound (.73 lbs) and around $300 in Adorama.

Look at the Canon SLRs that have been designed explicitly for astrophotography. They remove the IR filter that is in most cameras.
I personally used a Nikon D5100 for years; but now use a CCD camera that is designed totally for astrophotography and has essentially no other use -- mine is an SBIG ST-8300M, but there are many out there and you can easily chase the "best and latest" of those. But Canon is probably the best place to start. Others will no doubt add more insight into this comment.

I actually investigated the same topic myself and found out there are two cameras that are made specifically for astrophotography. One is a Canon 60Da. The second one is a Nikon and I believe the model is a D810a. I can't recall what the price of these cameras are, but the Canon is two generations old so that might be your best bet. Thank You everyone. From what everyone has told me and from what I have been able to find. I have decided to try the Cannon T7i. It has an impressive ISO and Megapixel level. It seems to have what the high end cameras have at a lower end price. So I will try it out and let you see how it worked. Thanks Again

Both Nikon and Canon have specific cameras made for astrophotog. Nikon has the D810a and Canon the 60Da.
