I did buy a refurbished D610 from them and the one year warranty is not a Nikon Warranty. They only have the 90 day Nikon warranty and the rest of the warranty term is a 3rd party warranty....

Canon's one year warranty is thru Canon, not a 3rd party.

So?

If it is free and they fix it I don’t care the company name on their paycheck.

That said so far, with hundreds of accumulated years on Nikon cameras and lenses, I’ve never had to return an item for warranty repair. They did offer a recall on one lens. I don’t think you needed to be in warranty for it.

I've never had the occasion to need a warranty repair either.

Good all around lens is Sigma 120-300 but it is about $3.6k stretching your budget even further.

Great suggestion for a newbie already on a stretched budget, buy a lens for $3600!

Welcome!
Again I'm going to say practice using the camera first ( you may have already done so on your previous cameras).
As suggested by others if it is cheaper to buy the bundle then go for that. Also watch for special offers.
After using for a while and deciding what you want to shoot ask another
question .

Since you are new to photography......Why not start with a "bridge camera" like the Sony RX 10 24-200 mm f 2.8 zoom lens and great images. The RX 10 price of around $800.00 is a bargain.

The OP didn't ask for whether to buy a bridge or DSLR. The OP asked to buy specifically the D500 just whether bundled or separate. I don't think you should suggest to the OP a different camera as you are not the OP and you wouldn't know which camera is best for the OP.

Oh......I'm sorry.....I was under the assumption this was a free and open discussion. I thought the base question was that this individual is new to photography.

How can a lens that starts at way above "normal" have any claim at all to being a "good all around lens"???

It is a free and open discussion, but reading the original post is important to how you answer it. The individual is NOT new to photography, has been using a point-and-shoot, and desires to graduate to a DSLR. This is why you were chastised for a suggestion based on a mis-reading of the situation. Don't take it personally. Sometimes comments will sound confrontational when they were not meant that way. On the other hand, there are some who are downright snarky, but it is easy to recognize those!

Unfortunately there is a lot of Thin Skinned "photographers" presents, so I'll leave you to your crayons.
